Thank You, Panda Express Supporters

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Emerson at Panda Express last Wednesday. It was so heartwarming to see so many familiar faces showing up for our school. Keep your eyes peeled for our next restaurant night in December featuring Chipotle.

November Is Fundraising Month

We’re in full swing of our November fundraising push. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Emerson, and we’re currently at 34%. If you’re able, a suggested donation of $150 per family gets us there quickly, but truly, any amount helps and is deeply appreciated.

Leadership Food Drive

The Leadership class is kicking off a schoolwide food drive this month. Donations are collected and counted in 4th period, and the top 2 donating classes will earn a pizza party! Start bringing in those cans and help us support families in need.

Veterans Day Event

November 10th in the Library, Mr. Jacobson has curated a group of Veterans who are available to talk with students. Learners can stop by to chat with them about their time in service in honor of Veterans Day. The PTA is providing a light lunch for our guests of honor.

Community Comments Needed

DJUSD is gathering community input as they consider options for addressing declining student enrollment, with roughly 1,000 fewer students in ten years. Some scenarios under review include multiple school closures in as little as three years, as well as folding 6th graders into the junior high schools.
