Spring Teacher Grants Approved!
Thanks to your PTA donations, teachers across Emerson Jr. High are getting new tools to make learning even better! Here's a quick look:
World Languages: $317 – Book sets, cultural study materials (calligraphy brushes, teapots)
Special Education: $310 – Calculators, printer, wobble stools
Science: $457 – Chromebook chargers, electronic balances, supplies for hands-on electricity project
English: $237 – Vocabulary flash cards
Agriculture: $399 – Hydroponic growing systems
Math & Library: $898 – Graphing calculators for library loan, scientific calculators
Total Grants Approved: approx. $2,600
These supplies will help students thrive across all subjects—thank you for supporting our classrooms!

We’re thrilled about this year’s auction—there are so many amazing items up for grabs, from golf outings and vacation stays to family fun packages and art lessons!
Register Early: We recommend “vaulting” (saving) your credit card ahead of time for a smooth, speedy checkout at the event.

Open House Auction Event: April 30See items in person, bid on live auction favorites, and enter raffles for select prizes. Don’t miss your chance to score something special while supporting Emerson Jr. High!

On April 30, The PTA is looking for a few awesome volunteers to help with:
Gift Card and baked good donations
Setting up
Selling raffle tickets
Staffing donation tables
And cleaning up afterward
Join us and be part of making this year’s event even more amazing than last year—fun, friends, and a little chaos guaranteed!

We’re so grateful to Cynthia, Brianne, Anya, Emily, Sukhi, Noah, Zarife, Monica, Amiee, Naomi, Cynthia (again!), and Gözde for stepping up and donating delicious treats for the April 6 and 13 sales. Your generosity makes a big impact and helps keep our bake sale tradition going strong!

Bike Swap this Sunday!
Our citywide 13th Annual 2026 César Chávez Elementary (CCE) Bike Swap is coming up on Sunday, April 12 - and we are hopeful some Emerson families will join the fun as a participants and earn money for Emerson. How does that work?
Donate bikes
CCE Bike Swap participating schools earn 75% of the sales price on bikes donated on behalf of your school (not consigned bikes).
Last year at the 2025 Bike Swap, over $1,800 was paid to participating schools! To become a participating school, Emerson must have at least one adult volunteer cover at least one shift on the weekend of the Bike Swap - April 11/12.
Between now and then, we are encouraging friends and families to donate their gently used bikes to the swap on behalf of Emerson. Bike drop-offs are the weekend of the swap.
