The Treasurer helps keep track of PTA money and makes sure everything is handled clearly and responsibly.

What You’ll Do

• Handle money*: Collect, deposit, and keep track of funds from events and donations

• Keep records: Maintain a simple, organized record of income and expenses

• Pay expenses: Reimburse approved purchases and pay bills as needed

• Watch the budget*: Help keep spending on track

 

Keep Everyone Informed

• Share a quick monthly update at PTA meetings

• Help put together the annual budget with the board*

 

Stay Organized & Compliant

• Follow PTA guidelines for handling money

• Complete a few required forms each year (tax/state filings)

• Keep receipts and basic records organized

 

Wrap-Up & Transition

• Keep things organized so it’s easy to pass along to the next Treasurer

 

*Good to know:
You’re not doing this alone—other board members help, and most tasks are routine once systems are in place. The current Treasurer, Kaci Walsh will work with you to show you the ropes!
